… The Virginia Board of Medicine stated that Patricia “Pat” King, a psychiatrist at King-Jones and Associates on Greenbrier Circle, violated state law and medical board regulations by prescribing stimulants to a young man who suffered from a host of mental health conditions and had a history of alcohol and substance abuse.

King, a member of the Chesapeake School Board who’s pursuing a seat on the City Council, declined to comment for an Oct. 3 article detailing the case and the reprimand. But her attorney, Richmond-based Michael L. Goodman, later provided a written statement to The Virginian-Pilot on King’s behalf.
