Doctor Pleads Guilty To Bilking Medicaid

A Long Island psychiatrist has pleaded guilty to a charge of repeatedly inflating bills for treating a client he believed was a Medicaid patient.

The psychiatrist, Dr. Carlton Blake, was arrested and arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, in Hauppauge, where he pleaded guilty before Judge Peter J. Newman to offering a false instrument for filing in the second degree. He also agreed to make restitution to Medicaid of $ 1,000 on the charge, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in prison.
