A taxpayer-funded psychiatrist who is under investigation will be allowed to return to work as long as he doesn’t treat any female patients.

Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital’s Russell Simon Hoyle was recently made subject to a gender-based restriction from the medical regulating body – prohibiting him from treating women.

According to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency’s website, conditions of this nature are often imposed for matters involving allegations of sexual misconduct.
