CONCORD — A New Hampshire psychiatrist will pay a $10,000 fine, undertake extensive medical education courses and have his work monitored by an expert under terms of a disciplinary agreement reached with state medical officials earlier this month.
The agreement allows Dr. Jayakumar Patil to remain in practice. But he does so under reprimand by the New Hampshire Board of Medicine, which was issued two weeks ago and released to the media on Monday…
His license was suspended for 30 days earlier this year…
Patil has acknowledged an investigation that found inadequate care for a patient he treated for nearly 12 years. Investigators found problems with his record keeping, consultations and procedures required before prescribing medication.
